The project involved the redesign of the road surface in Birmendorferstrasse and in Gutstrasse as far as Triemli. In parallel to the redesign process, the City of Zurich public transport operators renewed the tramlines. The renewal of the channels, including various utility pipes (water supply, natural gas and for connecting privately-owned buildings to the sewer system) was carried out prior to commencement of the construction work.
Birmensdorferstrasse is an important public space for the city and the area, and is a key entry point to the city of Zurich. The construction period was reduced by eight months.
