After three years of mining work, the dome of the Pinchat rail tunnel in Geneva was pierced in October 2015. This tunnel is part of the CEVA project, the objective of which is to build an international rail connection between the SBB-operated Geneva-Cornavin railway station and Annemasse station in France. The project involves the construction of a new cross-border, double-track railway line from Cornavin to Annemasse via Eaux-Vives. Lot 23.12 extends from Carouge-Bachet to Val d’Arve and includes a two-kilometre-long tunnel as well as the underground railway station at Carouge-Bachet.
